I SPENT THE 1ST 2 WEEKS OF NOVEMBER IN MOSCOW/KHIMKI BEFORE RETURNING TO BEAUTIFUL LIVERPOOL VIA BRUSSELS. THE TOUGHEST THING ABOUT BEING A FREELANCE DESIGNER IS WHEN PERSONAL ISSUES TAKE PROMINENCE OVER WORK AND THERE AIN’T TOO MUCH YOU CAN DO ABOUT IT…..
It always fascinates me how my music tastes change when I’m in unfamiliar places with depressing atmospheres…. I actually started listening to Frank Sinatra and early Oasis (I’m not proud, nor am I ashamed) then as soon as I got back to Liverpool I stopped and went back to repetitive beats…. I have been listening to Russian Circles album ‘Guidance’ and if you like your atmospheric post-rock music with no singing it should be up your street….
I finally caught up with Narcos season 2 which I loved, actually made me want to go to Columbia, but I probably won’t… Finally started watching Black Mirror which I’m enjoying though I watched it out or order, always loved Charlie Brooker (especially Dead Set)… As a horror fan I loved It Follows, every modern horror film maker should watch this film to learn how effective atmosphere is and that jump scares do not make for a good horror film….. Speaking of which I also saw The Blair Witch which was a stinking pile of pooh which I almost walked out of, it had some of the worst fake jump scares I have ever seen in a movie and don;t get me started on the use of noise. I’m getting angry just thinking about it. Deep breaths……..
I also enjoyed the hell out of Green Room, I knew zero about it going in and actually thought it was literally about a green room which kills teenagers, I was wrong. It was boss. It even has Professor X being all sinister and stuff.
Somehow I managed to bag Wolfenstein: The New Order on PS4 for £1.99 from Cash Converter. Obviously something went wrong with their pricing but I weren’t complaining. To even things up they offered me £13 for my wedding ring. I said NO.
Anyway Wolfenstein is pretty great though probably not as good as PS4 Doom.
